For those of us in digital publishing at Tyndale House, the creation of a blog to discuss what we’re doing in the area of web development, digital publishing, and social media has been a dream for some time.  All of us are busy working separately in our own areas, (often with very little time to spare!) but we are all tasked with the mission to administer to the spiritual needs of people, primarily through literature, consistent with Biblical principles.

For those of us in the digital realm, we’re focused on distributing our content through the Internet and other digital technologies.  Often, we’ve been stymied on how to solve a particular problem and have experimented with new approaches.  We’re not aspiring to be on the bleeding edge, but certainly wish to become an active participant on the cutting edge of technology.  Collaboration is important, and we have wanted to begin a dialogue with others about some of the issues we face and the successes we’ve enjoyed.

The one big hurdle that has prevented us from moving forward on this blog has been the issue of relevant and timely information.  Over the past several years, our staff has grown to include a strong list of professionals who have garnered expertise in a wide variety of disciplines.  Given all the issues we’re tackling and the solutions we’ve discovered, we know that content will no longer be a problem!

Thanks for your comments. Yes, we’ll put those topics on our list! In the meantime, there are a lot of POD services that might be useful for ministries as they startup their publishing divisions.
